Droo Nelson
was first influenced by science fiction at the age of 9 years old when he, at what some would say was too young an age, sat for a viewing of the second film in the Alien franchise, Aliens, directed by James Cameron. That moment, combined with the countless hours of other classic films he enjoyed growing up, rewatching into adulthood, such as John Carpenter's The Thing, Robert Lieberma's Fire In The Sky, Luc Besson's Fifth Element, not even needing to mention the obvious including the likes of Star Wars and Star Trek, gave birth to the world of Gen E.S.
Beginning as a tale made for the graphic novel format, the Gen E.S. idea slowly grew into something more personal to him. That, and realizing his artistic ability was a bit more limited than he had hoped, drove him to turn the story in a different direction. He decided to build a world from the ground up. He began to hone his previous ideas into a cohesive timeline of events spanning from the year 1980, to 2860 (or 658 E.S.). The exile of a people, the rise and fall of governments, and the conflicts that played out that shaped the current world this story takes place in.
After reorganizing the previous iterations of the story, fleshing out the characters and their unique personalities, the framework for his first novel, Secrets of the Stones was finalized 15 years after the ideas first conception.Â
The author plans to write 3 books to conclude the first part of the story, and an additional 3 are planned if they are well received!!
